What is Project Learning Tree? Project Learning Tree (PLT) is an award-winning environmental education program designed for educators working with students from pre-kindergarten to twelfth grade. Through hands-on interdisciplinary activities, Project Learning Tree helps young people learn how to think - not what to think - about complex environmental issues.
Project Learning Tree helps students become:
personally aware of their presence in the environment;
personally aware of the multiple values of natural resources, including ecological, economic, cultural, and societal;
better able to understand their impact on and responsibility to the environment
equipped with the skills and knowledge to make informed decisions regarding the management and the use of the environment; and
increasingly confident in their ability to take action on their decisions
